7 lb. cucumbers
2 gal. water
3 c. lime
4 pt. vinegar
9 c. sugar
Soak sliced cucumbers in lime and water for 24 hours. Wash and soak in
clear water for 4 hours. Make syrup of 4 pints vinegar and 9 cups sugar.
Pour syrup over cucumbers and let stand for 24 hours. Boil for 1 hour with
pickling spices. Put in jars.
One-dish pan full makes double recipe. Use 8 cups vinegar and 18 cups sugar.
A favorite delight all year long.
