6-Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 well beaten egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk

7-Directions

Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter, and salt together. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping. Add egg, baking powder, soda, and buttermilk. Mix with electric mixer until smooth. Pour into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Sprinkle crumbs on top. Bake in a 350* oven for 30 minutes. Serve warm with a pat of butter.

2 c. sugar 
1 c. margarine 
1 c. jam 
4 eggs 
1 c. nuts 
3 c. flour 
1 tsp. baking powder 
1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. nutmeg 
1 tsp. vanilla

ICING:
 2 c. brown sugar 
 4 egg whites 
1 tsp. cream of tarter 
6 Tbsp. warm water 
1 tsp. salt 
1 tsp. vanilla

7-Directions

CAKE: Cream sugar and margarine. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add alternately with flour. Add jam, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Pour into three 9 inch cake pans which have been greased and lined with wax paper. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350* or until cake sprins back when pressed in center: ICING: Combine in top of double boiler. Beat over water with electric mixer until it stands in peaks.

One of my favorite childhood memories is of Mother preparing Jam Cake. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing family favorites.

3/4 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 to 4 c. flour

7-Directions

Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, and baking powder. Add enough flour to handle good, about 3 to 4 cups. Roll out and cut with biscuit or cookie cutter. Grease pans. Bake at 375* for 10 minutes or less. Take out of the oven as they start to brown.

1 (3 oz.) box pistachio instant pudding 
1 box white cake mix 
3 eggs 
1 c. Wesson oil 
1 c. 7-Up 
1/2 c. finely chiopped nuts
ICING: 
2 pkg. Dream Whip 
1 1/2 c. milk 
1 (3 oz.) box pistachio instant pudding

7-Directions

Mix ingredients and beat for 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350* for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool. ICING: Use 2 packages Dream Whip, 1 1/2 cups milk, and 1 (3 oz.)box pistachio instant pudding. Beat until thick and fluffy. Spread on cool cake and refrigerate.

1 box yellow cake mix 
1 can mandarin oranges 
1/2 c. oil; 4 eggs
FROSTING:
1 can mandarin oranges, drained 
1 large Cool Whip 
1 large can crushed pineapple 
1 pkg. vanilla instant pudding

7-Directions

Mix cake mix, oranges, 1/2 cup oil, and 4 eggs together and bake according to directions on the box. FROSTING: Beat Cool Whip, crushed pineapple, and vailla instant pudding together. Top with mandarin oranges. Keep refrigerated.

3 1/2 c. sugar
Juice of 5 lemons
1 pt. grape juice
1 small can crushed pineapple
1/2 pt. whipping cream

7-Directions

Mix sugar with 2 cups boiling water to make syrup. Pour cup of boiling water over lemon peel; let stand a few minutes. Add 1 small can crushed pineapple. Pour in freezer and chill. Add 1/2 pint whipping cream and enough milk to fill freezer.

Juice of 3 lemons

1/2 pt. whipping cream
Sweet milk to fill freezer can

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. Parkway margarine
2/3 c. (5 1/2 oz. can) evaporated milk
1 (12 oz.)pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 (7 oz.) jar Kraft Marshmallow creme
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

7-Directions

Combine sugar, margarine, and milk in heavy 2 1/2 quart saucepan; bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent sorching. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Add marshmallow creme nuts, and vanila; beat until well blended. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into square. Makes approximately 3 ponnds.

1 qt. sweet milk
3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 Tbsp. flour

7-Directions

Heat milk in double boiler. Save a little milk to add to egg mixture. Beat eggs well. Add sugar and flour. When milk is hot, and egg mixture. Cook until milk coats spoon. Stir constantly with wire whisk. Strain before serving.
